Yu-Gi-Oh

Ever heard of the name? Well, it's one of the most famous card games around. Also known as Duel Monsters, the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game was first born as an idea by Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of the Yu-Gi-Oh Manga and the genius who created this game. The game was first known as 'Magic & Wizards' before adopting its now present name. Originally, Bandai produced the cards but the rights now belong to Konami and they are still making new sets.

The game is played between two (or more players) with a deck of 40 (or more) Yu-Gi-Oh cards made up of monsters, magic and trap cards. Look up the cards on this site, here.

The rules of the game are simple; both players start with 8000 LP and the one who loses all their life points loses. Of course, they are other ways to win.

The official website can also help you get started:

I first started few years back when I was at least 17. I read the manga and when I saw the cards, it was an impulse and I bought my first random set of cards. I didn't have enough for a deck but the card art was so beautiful I decided to but more to make a collection. The cards were in Japanese so I had to take time to learn the rules and how to use them via websites like this one:

Which also provides news of upcoming cards, and new sets as well as rule changes. Anyway, I met up a few friends who helped me get started and pretty soon I knew how to play. OK, I was a VERY bad player, losing a lot but I considered it practice. I knew how to play but Deck Building and Luck was another story. Don't get discouraged. It's all just part of the game.

I finally made my Duelist ID. It registers you into the system and every time you enter a tournament, you also get points which add up. Go on and try it. Here's a good site to also create and test out new deck.

It's an online version of the Yugioh Desktop if you know what that is. I practice on it when I'm bored or trying to improve my decks, usually one of the other. Well, go and try it out.

I can't teach you how to play, but if you want me to lay down the rules of gameplay, drop a comment. If I do then I will glad to create tutorial for beginners, but I doubt that will be happening so soon.

Well, catcha later. Peace Out!
